Reading Stages & Phonics Skills:
- Emergent 1: short vowel CVC
- Emergent 2: short vowel CVC(s), C-ee(s), and CV+ll
- Early 1: CCVC (beginning blends + digraphs) and floss rule (ll, ff, ss, zz)
- Early 2: CVCC (ending blends + digraphs) and the long vowel ee
- Beginner Fluent: beginning and ending blends + digraphs (2- and 3-letter), ng + nk endings, long vowels with silent e, and oo (as in boot)
